Job summary

Oak Haven School in England is seeking a dedicated HLTA-support role to work with a small cohort of primary learners. You will support the HLTA in delivering a bespoke curriculum, help create a safe and nurturing learning environment and collaborate with teachers, families and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

The role requires a Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning or related field, experience with children, and a trauma-informed, compassionate approach.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning, childcare or related field is essential.
• Experience with children with SEMH or other additional needs is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the HLTA in delivering a bespoke, practical curriculum for a small cohort of primary learners.
• Assist individual learners and small groups to access learning and achieve targets.
• Help create a safe, calm, structured and nurturing learning environment.
• Build positive relationships and support emotional safety and well-being.
• Support literacy, numeracy, communication and independence through practical activities.
• Observe and record engagement and progress, sharing with colleagues.
