Dundee City Council is seeking dedicated support staff to work in primary schools across Dundee on a temporary basis until April 2026. This role involves providing essential support to children and staff, helping in the Breakfast Club, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment. Ideal candidates will have relevant experience with children and strong communication skills.

You will have 3 National 4s or equivalent.
Working as part of a cohesive support staff team, you will provide a flexible and comprehensive service to the school throughout the school day and during the Breakfast Club period as directed.
You will have experience of working with/caring for children, have your own children, or worked with children in a voluntary capacity. You will have experience of word processing, data input, general office duties, cash handling/record keeping, and have well-developed interpersonal and written and oral communication skills. You will be confident in numeracy and English, creative, able to relate to all people, work in a team, take responsibility, work on your own initiative but also able to follow instructions. You will also remain calm in emergencies and be committed and willing to undertake training.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City.
