Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting Primary Cover Supervisors for flexible bookings in Selly Oak and surrounding areas. Roles include long-term, short-term, and daily supply with a temporary contract and full-time hours, 8:30am–4:00pm, term time only.

Ideal candidates will have primary school experience, strong behaviour management, and a passion for helping pupils reach their potential. Safeguarding training should be up to date or available via Prospero Talking.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a Primary School setting is desirable.
• Experience as a Cover Supervisor, HLTA, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Learning Mentor, Sports Coach, or Youth Worker is highly desirable.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills are essential.
• A passion for supporting young learners and helping them achieve their potential.
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training is required; training can be provided if not current.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress, engagement and behaviour.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Support the wider school community when required.

• Position: Primary Cover Supervisor
• Contract/Position Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: Daily and Long-Term
• Contract Type: Temporary
• Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
• Minimum Rate of Pay: GBP95-GBP135
• Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher

• Ensure pupils remain engaged, motivated, and on task throughout lessonsProvide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress, engagement, and behaviour

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a Primary School setting is desirable
• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, HLTA, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Learning Mentor, Sports Coach, or Youth Worker is highly desirable
