Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Primary Classroom & Learning Support Assistant to help support staff across Crawly and surrounding areas. Roles include EYFS to KS2 support with term-time placements and flexible full-time, part-time, or daily cover options.

You will assist teachers with engaging activities, run booster sessions in reading, phonics and numeracy, and provide 1:1 support for children with SEN. An Enhanced DBS (Update Service) and right to work in the UK are preferred.

• Experience supporting children in schools, nurseries, or care settings.
• Ability to deliver reading, phonics and numeracy booster sessions.
• Ability to provide 1:1 support for children with SEN.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Partnering with primary class teachers to deliver engaging learning activities and keep pupils on task.
• Running targeted reading, phonics, and numeracy booster sessions with individuals or small groups.
• Delivering dedicated 1:1 assistance to children with SEN (including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs).
• Fostering a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels supported.
• Assisting with lesson prep, creative displays, and break‑time monitoring.

Who We're Looking For:

• Relevant experience supporting children or young people (in schools, nurseries, youth clubs, coaching, or care).
• A positive, adaptable mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
• Good proficiency in core Primary English and Maths.
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or readiness to complete one).
• Right to work in the UK and reliable access to schools throughout Crawly.
