Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a Primary Classroom & Learning Support Assistant to support staff and inspire pupils in Crawly and surrounding areas. Roles include 1:1 SEN support, small-group booster sessions, and delivering engaging learning activities alongside teachers.

Flexibility to cover full-time blocks, part-time days, or daily cover is available. Applicants should have DBS or be willing to obtain one and have right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience supporting children or young people in schools, nurseries, or care settings.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, adaptable mindset.
• Good proficiency in core Primary English and Maths.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging learning activities with staff to support pupil focus.
• Lead targeted reading, phonics, and numeracy booster sessions with individuals or small groups.
• Provide 1:1 assistance to children with SEN (Autism, ADHD, SEMH).
• Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
• Assist with lesson prep, displays, and break-time monitoring.

Early Years (EYFS) to foundation skills in

Key Stage 1 (KS1) and SATs prep in

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Partnering with primary class teachers to deliver engaging learning activities and keep pupils on task.
• Running targeted reading, phonics, and numeracy booster sessions with individuals or small groups.
• Delivering dedicated 1:1 assistance to children with SEN (including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs).
• Fostering a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels supported.
• Assisting with lesson prep, creative displays, and break-time monitoring.
