Job summary

Grove Surgery, Thetford, seeks an experienced Physician Associate to join the team on a full-time basis (36 hours across 4 days). The PA will deliver direct patient care under GP supervision, undertake clinical assessments, diagnoses and treatment, and work within a multidisciplinary team, including home visits when needed.

The role emphasizes preventative care, patient education, and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate PA degree from an accredited PA programme.
• Membership of the Faculty of Physician Associates at the RCP.
• Current professional registration in the UK.
• Current and valid certification or recertification by the UK Physician Associate National Examination.
• At least 1 year experience in primary care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care for patients, including assessments, diagnoses and treatment under GP supervision.
• Interview patients, take histories, perform examinations and explain medical problems.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and assist with home visits as required.
• Refer patients to physicians and other health professionals as indicated.
• Order and interpret tests and recommend appropriate diagnostics and treatments.
• Educate patients on preventative healthcare and lifestyle advice.
• Conduct telephone consultations to discuss results and implications with patients.
• Fully document all aspects of patient care and complete required paperwork.
