Job summary

The Medical Centre is seeking a General Practitioner to provide clinical care across two sites, The Shepway Medical Centre and The Grove Green Medical Centre. The role involves consultations for acute, chronic and undifferentiated needs, with long-term condition management and referrals.

Sessions are flexible, four to six per week, within a team of partners, salaried GPs and nurses. Full GMC registration is required, and NHS pension and development opportunities are on offer.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration is essential for eligibility.
• Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List, where applicable.
• Entitled to work in the UK with eligibility to practise in general practice.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute, chronic, and undifferentiated needs.
• Process results, sign repeats, and review clinical correspondence within sessions.
• Provide face-to-face, telephone and online consultations.
• Prescribe safely and appropriately; manage long-term conditions.
• Undertake preventive care, screening and health promotion.
• Identify patients needing urgent assessment or referral and refer appropriately.
• Offer safety-netting advice and follow-up for complex cases.
• Keep accurate records and complete prescriptions, letters and reports.
• Participate in audits, significant event reviews and quality improvement.
• Support education and supervision of medical students and trainees.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and attend practice meetings.
