Job summary

Grove Surgery is advertising a physician associate post as part of a teaching practice serving around 12,000 patients. The role involves clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment under GP supervision, with referrals, telephone consultations and some home visits.

It offers a compressed 36-hour week over four days with a named GP clinical supervisor. Applicants should have a PA degree, FPA membership, UKPANCE certification (may be pending) and at least one year of primary care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care under GP supervision
• Take patient histories and examine patients
• Work with the practice clinical team including home visits
• Refer patients to physicians and other health professionals
• Explain diagnostic tests and treatments
• Record and interpret laboratory results
• Perform specialised diagnostic exams and procedures
• Educate patients in preventative healthcare
• Hold telephone consultations and discuss results
• Handle routine and emergency cases
• Complete all paperwork and documentation accurately
