Job summary

Hastings Direct is seeking a Head of Technical Pricing to lead a seasoned team of Data Scientists and Actuaries. You will set the vision for pricing models, drive innovation, and align with underwriting and growth strategies to improve decision speed and risk accuracy.

The role calls for substantial leadership experience, strong statistical background, and hands-on work with Python and AI techniques to advance Hastings Direct’s pricing capability in the UK market.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership in technical pricing or related fields.
• Experience deploying predictive models in commercial settings.
• Strong background in probability, statistics and numerical analysis.
• Experience leading managers and teams.
• Experience with Python and exposure to generative AI.

Responsibilities

• Set and deliver the technical pricing strategy and roadmap.
• Lead a team of Data Scientists and Actuaries.
• Oversee live pricing models and profitability models.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Claims and Accounts.
• Promote innovation while managing model risk.
