Job summary

Hastings Direct is seeking a Pricing Automation Engineer to join our hybrid team across the UK. You will focus on developing and optimising a high-performance recasting capability used by underwriting, pricing and analytics colleagues.

You will build and automate data pipelines and pricing logic in Python, with SQL and Git as desirable support tools. The role emphasizes collaboration, adaptability and continuous learning in a fast-paced digital insurance environment.

Responsibilities

• Work at intersection of data, tech and commercial decision making.
• Develop and optimise recasting capability for high-speed scoring.
• Build, test and refine automation pipelines with pricing, modelling and analytics teams.
• Develop and operationalise data pipelines, pricing logic and model features using Python.
• Liaise with customer base to onboard new users and debug issues.
• Monitor performance and automation stability across workstreams.
• Produce clear documentation and tutorials for users.
