Job summary

Newfield Fabrications Co. in the UK is seeking experienced Press Brake Operators to join our busy steel fabrication team. You will set up, adjust and operate press brake machines to bend sheet metal, read engineering drawings, and verify parts with precision measuring tools.

During training you’ll work days, then rotate to 6-2 and 2-10 shifts. We offer competitive hourly pay with overtime, a £2000 starter incentive (T&Cs apply), and a supportive, team‑oriented environment with ongoing training

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable and safety-conscious, able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

About Us

We’re a busy and growing steel fabrication company producing precision parts and assemblies for a range of industries. We’re looking for experienced Press Brake Operators to join our team. If you’ve got a solid background in sheet metal work and take pride in accuracy and quality, we’d like to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, and shape sheet metal components.
• Adjust ram and back gauge positions according to process control instructions and blueprints.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications to ensure accuracy.
• Inspect finished parts using micrometres, callipers, gauges, and other precision tools to verify dimensions.
• Perform basic maintenance and cleaning on the machines to keep them running smoothly.
• Monitor production quality and make any necessary adjustments to maintain standards.
• Work with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals and maintain workflow.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and keep a clean, organised work area.
• Initially working a day shift whilst in training, then will move to shift working (rotating 6-2 and 2-10).

• Proven experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and make machine adjustments.
• Confident using hand tools and press brake tooling safely and effectively.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand part tolerances.
• Skilled in using precision measuring instruments to check part quality.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
