Job summary

Theo James Recruitment Ltd is supporting an established manufacturer in Ferryhill for an Advanced Press Brake Operator role. This position involves setting up, programming and operating CNC press brake machinery within the folding department, contributing to production efficiency and quality.

You will read and interpret engineering drawings, carry out first-off inspections and mentor less experienced operators, while maintaining high safety and productivity standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in CNC press brake or metal forming.
• Ability to independently set, program and adjust machinery.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Previous mentoring or supervisory experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC press brake and metal forming machinery.
• Configure tooling, bend allowances and machine programs.
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Carry out first-off inspections and quality checks.
• Support and mentor less experienced operators.
• Troubleshoot production and quality issues.
• Monitor machine performance and report faults.
• Work closely with production and quality teams.
• Promote the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency.

Job Title: Advanced Press Brake Operator

Location: Ferryhill

Salary: £16.98 per hour (including shift allowance) + Overtime

Working Hours:

38.5 hours per week on a rotating two-shift pattern:

• Early Shift: Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-2:30pm; Friday, 6:00am-12:30pm
• Late Shift: Monday-Thursday, 2:30pm-11:00pm; Friday, 12:30pm-7:00pm
