Job summary

Westwood Recruitment are seeking an experienced Brake Press Setter/Operator in Milton Keynes. The role involves setting, programming and operating CNC brake press machinery, reading detailed drawings and selecting tooling and settings for each job.

You will work with Trumpf and Amada machines, handle various materials, run quality checks and maintain a safe, efficient production area to meet schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience with CNC brake presses.
• Experience in setting, programming and operating press brake machinery.
• Experience with Trumpf and/or Amada machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of press brake programming, tooling and machine setup.
• Experience with mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel.
• Experience with varying material thicknesses.
• Attention to detail and quality.

Responsibilities

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced press brake professional who is confident setting, programming and operating CNC press brake machinery and can work accurately from engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, program and operate CNC brake press machinery.
• Work with Trumpf and/or Amada press brake machines.
• Read, interpret and work accurately from detailed engineering drawings.
• Select the correct tooling and machine settings for each job.
• Programme machines to produce components accurately and efficiently.
• Work with a range of materials including mild steel, stainless and aluminium.
• Work with varying material thicknesses and component sizes.
• Check finished components against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy throughout production.
• Carry out first-off and in-process inspections where required.
• Identify and resolve basic machine, tooling or production issues.
• Ensure machinery and the working area are maintained in a safe and tidy condition.
• Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines.
