Job summary

Ganymede Solutions in Derby is seeking an experienced Press Brake Operative to join our fabrication team. You will set up, programme and operate an Amada HFE 130T 3m 8-axis press brake, producing high-quality sheet metal components to engineering drawings.

The role involves reading drawings, selecting tooling, performing quality checks and maintaining a clean, safe workshop. Hours are 39 per week, Monday to Thursday 6:00am–4:15pm, with a temp-to-perm path and occasional laser cutting duties.

Qualifications

• Experience operating and setting Press Brake machinery.
• Experience with Amada Press Brakes desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience in sheet metal or fabrication environment.
• Knowledge of tooling, bend angles and machine setup.
• Laser cutting experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and programme the Amada HFE 130T Press Brake.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Select and change tooling.
• Produce folded sheet metal components to tight tolerances.
• Carry out quality checks and inspections on finished components.
• Adjust machine settings and programmes where required.
• Operate the fibre laser cutter where required.
• Carry out basic machine maintenance and report faults.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Work with the fabrication team to meet production targets.

Press Brake Operative

Location: Derby
Pay: £15 - £16 per hour + holiday pay £1.81-£1.93 per hour.
Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:15pm
Contract: Temp-to-Perm

The Role

I am looking for an experienced Press Brake Operative to join the fabrication team.
This is a hands-on role working with an Amada HFE 130T 3m 8-axis Press Brake, producing high-quality sheet metal components to engineering drawings and tight tolerances. Experience with laser cutting machinery would also be advantageous, as the workshop operates a Boxford BFL(Apply online only)W Fibre Metal Laser Cutter.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and programme the Amada HFE 130T Press Brake.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Select and change the appropriate tooling.
• Produce folded sheet metal components to tight tolerances.
• Carry out quality checks and inspections on finished components.

• Work as part of the fabrication team to meet production targets and deadlines.

The Candidate

• Previous experience operating and setting Press Brake machinery.
• Experience with Amada Press Brakes would be highly desirable.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working within a sheet metal or fabrication environment.
• A good understanding of tooling, bend angles and machine setup.
• Experience with laser cutting machinery would be advantageous.
• A strong eye for detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

What's on Offer?

• £15-£16 per hour, depending on experience.
• Additional holiday pay of approximately £1.81-£1.93 per hour.
• 39 hours per week across a 4-day working week.
• Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:15pm.
