Job summary

Ganymede Solutions Limited in Derby is seeking a Press Brake Operative to join the fabrication team. The role is 39 hours per week with a 4-day working week, Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:15pm, paid at £15-£16 per hour with holiday pay (£1.81-£1.93 per hour).

Initially temp-to-perm with a path to permanent employment. The position requires setting up and programming the Amada HFE 130T, reading drawings, and producing high‑quality folded components to tight tolerances, with experience in laser

Qualifications

• Experience operating and setting Press Brake machinery.
• Experience with Amada Press Brakes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working in a sheet metal or fabrication environment.
• Good understanding of tooling, bend angles and machine setup.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and programme the Amada HFE 130T Press Brake.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Select and change the appropriate tooling.
• Produce folded sheet metal components to tight tolerances.
• Carry out quality checks and inspections on finished components.
• Adjust machine settings and programmes where required.
• Operate the fibre laser cutter where required and experience allows.
• Carry out basic machine maintenance and report faults.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Work as part of the fabrication team to meet production targets and deadlines.

Press Brake Operative

Location: Derby
Pay: £15 - £16 per hour + holiday pay £1.81-£1.93 per hour.
Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:15pm

The Role

I am looking for an experienced Press Brake Operative to join the fabrication team.

This is a hands‑on role working with an Amada HFE 130T 3m 8-axis Press Brake, producing high‑quality sheet metal components to engineering drawings and tight tolerances. Experience with laser cutting machinery would also be advantageous, as the workshop operates a Boxford BFL#removed#W Fibre Metal Laser Cutter.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and programme the Amada HFE 130T Press Brake.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Select and change the appropriate tooling.
• Produce folded sheet metal components to tight tolerances.

The Candidate

To be considered, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience operating and setting Press Brake machinery.
• Experience with Amada Press Brakes would be highly desirable.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working within a sheet metal or fabrication environment.
• A good understanding of tooling, bend angles and machine setup.
• Experience with laser cutting machinery would be advantageous.
• A strong eye for detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
