Job summary

Vertu Hyundai Bristol is seeking a Prep Technician to perform pre-delivery inspections on both new and used vehicles, ensuring each check aligns with manufacturer guidelines and aiming for first-time fixes.

The role requires a City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Automotive, current Vehicle Technician experience, and a full UK driving licence (MOT licence preferred). Competitive pay up to £36,440 with bonuses and benefits included.

Qualifications

• A relevant formal qualification in Automotive – City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3
• Current experience as a Vehicle Technician
• An MOT licence is preferred but not essential
• Your own set of tools
• A full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) on new and used vehicles
• Ensure checks are completed to the highest standard and per manufacturer guidelines
• Work to agreed timeframes and maintain productivity while delivering quality workmanship
• Provide excellent customer service and support first-time fixes whenever possible

What We're Offering

• A basic salary of up to £36,440, depending on skills and experience (based on a 42-hour working week)
• An over-performance bonus opportunity on top of your basic salary
• A £2,000 sign-on bonus paid in month 1
• A £2,000 retention bonus paid in month 13

About The Role

As a Prep Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) on new and used vehicles, ensuring every check is completed to the highest standard and in line with manufacturer guidelines. You'll work to agreed timeframes and maintain strong productivity, all while delivering the exceptional customer service and quality workmanship that our reputation is built on — with first-time fixes at the heart of everything you do.
