Job summary

Eldon Housing Association is seeking a reliable Premises Officer to provide cleaning and caretaking across Croydon sites (Bardsley Court, Claremont Court and Garden Court). The role runs Monday–Friday, 9am–2.30pm, 27.5 hours per week, on a fixed-term contract for six months, with a starting hourly rate of £15.65 and rising to £16.19 after probation.

The successful candidate will ensure safe, clean and well-maintained environments for older residents, with opportunities for training, progression

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning, caretaking or similar premises-based role.
• Customer-focused approach with sensitivity to tenants.
• Good communication with tenants, colleagues, contractors and stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and organized time/resource management.
• Experience supervising staff, contractors or service providers, or willingness to learn.
• IOSH Health and Safety and First Aid qualifications, or willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Provide cleaning and caretaking across three sites.
• Keep premises, equipment, grounds, refuse and planted areas clean and well maintained.
• Monitor and report repairs, pest issues, risks and incidents.
• Be a helpful contact for tenants, contractors, colleagues and visitors.
• Support safe access, including gritting and path clearing in winter.
• Maintain stock of cleaning materials and safe COSHH storage.
• Keep site records and health and safety checks up to date.
