Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Maternity Smoking Cessation Support Worker to help pregnant women achieve a smoke-free pregnancy. The role involves CO monitoring, arranging NRT access, and delivering evidence-based behavioural support within the Treating Tobacco Dependence Service.

You will work with the Lead Midwife and maternity team to provide personalised care, encourage health behaviour change, and support national maternity safety priorities.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at minimum level, or equivalent.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in health-related studies, or relevant experience.
• NCSCT trained Stop Smoking Practitioner qualification.

Responsabilités

• Provide evidence-based smoking cessation support to pregnant women throughout pregnancy.
• Assess referred women and develop personalised quit plans.
• Deliver behavioural support interventions using a woman-centred approach.
• Monitor CO levels and support Nicotine Replacement Therapy according to Trust protocols.
• Educate on risks of smoking in pregnancy and promote smoke-free environments.
• Carry out pre-booking assessments and respond to referrals promptly.
• Record progress and contribute to maternity smoking cessation targets.
• Support audits, data collection and quality improvement activities.

Formation

GCSE level English and Mathematics or equivalent

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in health-related studies OR has relevant experience

NCSCT trained Stop Smoking Practitioner
