Job summary

North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Smokefree Practitioner (NHS Band 4) to work with maternity teams in Warrington. You will deliver evidence-based behavioural support to pregnant women who smoke, using CO monitoring and NRT where appropriate, across a range of clinical settings.

You will educate on risks of smoking in pregnancy, promote smoke-free environments, and coordinate pre-booking calls for referrals while working with midwives and obstetricians to provide safe,

Qualifications

• Health related qualification such as GCSE Maths or equivalent.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent health related study.
• Evidence of promoting healthy lifestyle advice to patients and the public.
• Experience working in maternity services or with tobacco dependence care.

Responsibilities

• Educate individuals about the risks of smoking in pregnancy.
• Promote smoke free homes and cars while advising on harms of secondhand smoke.
• Inform individuals about benefits of stopping smoking in pregnancy.
• Conduct pre-booking telephone calls with self-reported smokers on referral.
• Respond to referrals into the Maternity Treating Tobacco Dependence Service within timescales.
