Willmott Dixon in Gateshead is seeking a dynamic Preconstruction Project Manager for our North East region. You will manage the preconstruction bid process, coordinating internal and external resources to deliver bids on time and to the highest quality.

Reporting to the Preconstruction Manager, you will lead two-stage/negotiated tenders valued £10m–£100m across Education, Leisure, Health, Blue Light, Transport and Commercial sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing diverse technical input and leading bid processes.
• Background in operations, planning, commercial, design or estimating helps.
• Ability to develop strategies for sustainability and project delivery.
• Strong listening and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Motivating and leading a bid team of internal and external resources.
• Developing the commercial strategy with the team.
• Managing customers’ expectations through health checks.
• Monitoring progress, risks and opportunities; initiating actions.
• Ensuring a seamless transition from preconstruction to operations.
• Coordinating inception workshops with customers to capture requirements.
