Job summary

Willmott Dixon is seeking a dynamic Preconstruction Project Manager (Bid Manager) to join our Midlands region, primarily in Nottingham with hybrid working. You will lead the preconstruction bid process across multiple sectors and manage both internal and external resources to meet tight timescales and budgets.

You will coordinate two-stage/negotiated tenders for £10m–£100m projects, ensuring customer expectations are exceeded where possible.

Qualifications

• Experience leading bid teams and managing complex input from design, estimators and external consultants.
• Strong leadership and ability to drive commercial strategy across two-stage/negotiated tenders.
• Proven ability to manage customer expectations and deliver projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Motivate and lead a bid team including internal/external resources.
• Develop and implement the commercial strategy for bids.
• Manage customer expectations through health checks and professional communication.
• Develop project strategies to meet sustainability objectives.
• Monitor progress, risks and opportunities; implement corrective actions.
• Invest in continuous professional development of the team to share best practices.
• Maintain a seamless transition from preconstruction to operations.
