Job summary

Simply Recruitment Group is recruiting an experienced Metal Finisher / Deburr Operative to join a busy manufacturing environment near Ashton Under Lyne. The role is permanent with a rate of £13.70–£14.20 per hour PAYE, plus 25 days’ holiday and bank holidays, pension, company bonus and healthcare.

You will prepare and finish components to a high standard, mainly working with thin-gauge aluminium, using hand tools, orbital sanders and fly presses.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a deburring, metal finishing or similar manufacturing role.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with hand tools, orbital sanders and fly presses.
• Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
• Strong commitment to health and safety and 5S practices.

Responsibilities

• Manually remove lugs, burrs and sharp edges from metal components.
• Use a range of hand tools and finishing equipment, including files, orbital sanders and fly presses.
• Work from engineering drawings and follow written work instructions.
• Ensure all components are finished to a consistently high-quality standard.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment in line with 5S standards.
• Work accurately on close-tolerance components where attention to detail is essential.
