Job summary

Wilson Associates Ltd is seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our engineering team in a two-shift pattern. The role focuses on operating laser cutting machines to produce high-quality sheet metal components with precise measurements and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with laser equipment, sheet metal fabrication, and the ability to read technical drawings. Forklift experience is required, and the position offers a shift allowance within a full-time,

Qualifications

• Accurate math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Forklift truck experience/license.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with laser machinery experience.
• Familiar with sheet metal fabrication processes including assembling, grinding, welding.
• Ability to use hand tools effectively in engineering environment.
• Excellent attention to detail with commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong problem-solving skills; able to work independently or in a team.
• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate laser cutting machines safely and efficiently to fabricate sheet metal components.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Assemble, grind, and weld components as required for production.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications to accurately produce parts.
• Use hand tools and tooling effectively to complete fabrication tasks.
• Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and improve efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
