Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Derby seeks a skilled Fitter within the Assembly & Test to join our manufacturing team. You will fit engine components per engineering drawings and specifications, raise non-conformances, and work to deadlines tied to performance targets and customer delivery commitments.

The role requires a completed Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship and an NVQ/SVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent, plus PC literacy and knowledge of lean principles.

Qualifications

  • Fitting engine components per drawings and technical specs.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply instructions.
  • Familiarity with quality control and compliance processes.
  • Able to handle mechanical equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Experience with lean principles and process basics is desirable.
  • Manual handling is a requirement for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Fitting of engine components and/or modules as directed by engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Raising non-conformance issues.
  • Working to set deadlines to achieve performance targets and Customer delivery commitments
  • Working in a compliant manner to ensure that products are built to the correct technical and quality specifications.
  • Participating in continual review and improvement processes for the business to identify best practice.
  • Ensuring a clean and safe environment is maintained in the workplace.
