Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Derby is seeking a skilled Fitter to join the Assembly & Test team. You will fit engine components and modules following engineering drawings and specifications, contributing to on-time delivery and quality.

With an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering and a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent, you will interpret drawings, use engineering equipment, and work to lean principles while maintaining a safe, compliant workplace and ongoing process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship and an NVQ/SVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated fitting experience on engine components preferred.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply instructions to achieve quality.
  • PC literacy and knowledge of lean principles.
  • Manual handling is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Fitting of engine components and/or modules per drawings and specs.
  • Raising non-conformance issues.
  • Meeting deadlines to achieve performance targets and customer delivery commitments.
  • Ensuring products are built to correct technical and quality specifications.
  • Participating in continual review and improvement processes.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
