Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Derby is seeking a Manufacturing Services Technician (Pipefitter) at the Precision Casting Facility. You will perform installations and maintenance of gas, argon, steam pipework, boilers, and related equipment, including welding and fabrication across the site.

You'll support the Manufacturing Services Leader and Engineer, coordinating with production leaders and engineers to maintain safe, reliable, high-performance assets. A competitive package and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Pipefitting or time served apprenticeship.
• Good understanding of Pipefitting installations and maintenance operations.
• Basic IT literacy and ability to work to engineering drawings.
• Understanding of local and regional HSE standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, reactive, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance across plant assets and equipment.
• Utilise hand tools and test equipment to deliver customer requirements.
• Work with drawings and data to implement effective approaches to electrical systems.
• Coordinate workload with Production Leaders and Maintenance teams; interface with engineers.
• Support asset maintenance to keep equipment and facilities safe and reliable.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us a skilled Manufacturing Services Technician (Pipefitter) within our Precision Casting Facility in Derby.

In this role you will provide support to the Manufacturing Services Leader and Manufacturing Services Engineer. You will be responsible for performing installations and maintenance of site gas, argon supply, steam pipework and associated boilers. This includes process line pipework and servicing of gas furnaces and pressure vessels. The role also requires fabrication and welding work across the facility. This scope of work is not fully inclusive and other scopes of work will be required.

The Precision Casting Facility is Rolls-Royce's largest domestic facility and home of the single crystal turbine blade. The PCF is a high-volume single crystal HP and IP turbine blade manufacture for a multitude of products, employing world class processes, integrated manufacturing systems and advanced measurement techniques.

What you will be doing

In this role you will perform a range of routine, reactive, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks across a broad range of manufacturing assets and production & experimental equipment. This could be across a plant, site or business, ensuring that all outputs are safe, available and capable for use when required.

• Utilise hand tools and test equipment to deliver customer requirements.
• Use drawings & data to inform and implement the most effective approach towards capable electrical systems
• Coordinate workload and electrical activities with customers, regularly communicating and interfacing with Production Leaders, Team Leaders, Design Engineers, Maintenance Team members and Production Operators.
• Work with site Manufacturing Engineers to help understand and restore equipment performance to standard.
• Consistently support asset maintenance activities in order to ensure that equipment and facilities are safe and reliable to a high-performance standard. Work alongside/support equipment OEM and Design engineers
