Job summary
Omega Resource Group seeks an experienced EDM Machinist - Programmer, Setter and Operator in Cheltenham on a dayshift, full-time permanent basis. You will program, set and operate Wire EDM and Spark Erosion machines to produce aerospace-grade components to tight tolerances.
From engineering drawings and CAD data, you will drive efficiency while maintaining high workmanship standards. The role offers a competitive salary, training, and career development within a growing precision engineering
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an EDM Machinist, Programmer, Setter and Operator.
- Experience programming EDM machines from engineering drawings and CAD data.
- Strong experience using Wire EDM and Spark Erosion (Sink EDM).
- Skilled in reading and interpreting complex technical drawings.
- Experience working to tight tolerances in a precision engineering environment.
Responsibilities
- Program, set and operate Wire EDM and Spark Erosion machines.
- Manufacture precision components to aerospace quality requirements.
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.
- Select and prepare electrodes, tooling, fixtures and materials.
- Perform machine setup, process optimisation and first-off inspection.
- Monitor machining operations and adjust to ensure quality and productivity.
- Conduct routine machine maintenance and housekeeping.
- Use precision measuring equipment to verify component conformity.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Work with Engineering, Quality and Production teams to meet delivery schedules.
