Job summary

Workforce Staffing Ltd in Coventry is seeking an experienced EDM/Wire EDM Operator to join a specialist supplier of bespoke EDM services. You will program, set and operate EDM machines and read engineering drawings to translate requirements into precise setups.

The role requires strong experience in EDM/Spark/Wire erosion, tight tolerances and good inspection using shop-floor measuring tools. Overtime is available; salary is competitive and includes a company pension and 26 days holiday.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in EDM/Wire EDM/Spark erosion environments.
• Strong understanding of EDM processes and machining principles.
• Competent in programming, setting and operating EDM/Wire EDM machinery.
• Good knowledge of setting components using a clock.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working to tight tolerances and surface finishes.
• Confident with shop-floor inspection and measuring equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate EDM/Wire EDM machines.
• Accurately set and position components using a clock.
• Read and interpret detailed drawings and translate to machine setups.
• Work to tight tolerances with demanding surface finishes.
• Carry out in-process and final inspection with measuring equipment.
• Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail throughout manufacturing.
• Work within a busy production environment and meet deadlines.
• Maintain housekeeping and health & safety standards.
• Collaborate within a small, experienced engineering team.
