Job summary

Haith Group, a leading UK manufacturer of advanced machinery for handling, washing, grading and packing vegetables, is seeking a Machine Operative to run equipment in the Cutting Shop. Reporting to the Cutting Shop Supervisor, you will operate saws, press brakes and laser, taking measurements and planning sequences for each job.

You will work with precision tools, read schematics, and monitor machines to maintain quality and safety, contributing to efficiency and product quality.

Qualifications

• Experience operating cutting machinery (saw, press brake, laser) is preferred.
• Ability to read measurements and interpret drawings or schematics.

Responsibilities

• Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.
• Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.
• Select appropriate machines and position or load material for a job.
• Monitor machine and adjust feed, temperature and identify issues.
• Determine batch sizes and machine speeds.
• Ensure output aligns with specifications and discard defects.
• Follow company procedures and guidelines.
• Perform other ad hoc duties as requested by management.
