Job summary

Position 1 Recruitment are working with a well-established engineering company in Norwich, seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join their precision engineering team. You will set and operate CNC machines, program and edit, and handle live tooling and bar feeders to produce complex components.

Applicants should have strong turning and setting experience, be able to read drawings, and work to tight tolerances. Aerospace AS9100 experience would be advantageous, with a focus on quality.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a CNC Machinist or CNC Turner.
• Experience with sliding-head CNC machines.
• Strong CNC turning and setting/operating experience.
• Experience working in precision engineering.
• Aerospace or AS9100 experience would be advantageous.
• Confident reading engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances.
• High standards of quality and attention to detail.
• Flexible and able to work across different machines and applications.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC machining equipment.
• CNC programming and editing.
• Work with live tooling, sub-spindles and bar feeders.
• Manufacture complex and precision components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Set and adjust tooling, offsets and machine parameters.
• Work to tight tolerances and demanding specifications.
• Carry out quality checks to ensure components meet requirements.
