Job summary

Matchtech in Poole is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to programme, set and operate CNC lathes in a precision engineering environment. You will create components from drawings, optimise programs for efficiency and ensure tight tolerances are met.

The role requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Sliding head CNC experience is highly advantageous, with competitive hourly pay and ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC programmer, setter and operator.
• Strong CNC turning experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with close tolerances and quality standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC lathes.
• Produce precision components from drawings and specifications.
• Optimise programs for efficiency and cycle times.
• Select tooling and work-holding equipment.
• Monitor machining processes and adjust as required.
• Carry out first-off and in-process inspections with micrometers and gauges.
• Ensure all parts meet quality standards and tolerances.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized workspace and follow safety procedures.
