Job summary

Mane Contract Services is seeking an experienced CNC Turner Setter / Operator for a contract role in a high-spec precision machining environment. You will set and operate CNC lathes, producing components to micron-level tolerances and handling exotic materials.

The role reports to the Machine Shop Manager and involves reading drawings, selecting tools, and performing in-process inspection. The ideal candidate has proven CNC turning experience, familiarity with GD&T, and a background in

Qualifications

Proven experience as CNC Turner / CNC Setter Operator.
Experience machining exotic materials and tight tolerances.
Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
Experience in aerospace/oil & gas/defence environments.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM environments.
Lean manufacturing knowledge.

Responsibilities

Set and operate CNC turning machines.
Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances.
Machine exotic materials including Inconel, Titanium, Hastelloy and other alloys.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds and feeds.
Carry out in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment.
Ensure manufactured components meet quality standards.
Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust machines.
Maintain accurate, consistent production standards.
Follow health and safety procedures.
Work in a PPE-required workshop environment.
