Job summary

Talent Media Ltd in Lanark, South Lanarkshire, is recruiting an experienced CNC Turn/Mill Setter/Operator for a precision engineering manufacturer. This hands-on role requires full machine setups and running multi-axis turning/milling to close tolerances.

You will set up equipment, load programs, select tooling and inspect first-offs using micrometers and gauges. The job includes shift patterns with day and night options and a competitive hourly rate with shift allowances.

Qualifications

• Proven experience setting and operating CNC turning or Turn/Mill machinery.
• Ability to complete a full machine setup without supervision.
• Understanding of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, offsets and workholding.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
• Experience producing components to close tolerances.
• Competent in inspecting work with micrometers and other gauges.
• Experience with multi-axis machines, live tooling or twin/sub-spindle machining.
• CNC programming experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Turn/Mill machinery.
• Complete full machine changeovers.
• Select tooling, workholding and fixtures.
• Load and edit CNC programs.
• Produce and inspect first-offs using measuring tools.
• Manufacture complex parts from drawings.
• Maintain tolerances and surface finishes.
• Identify and resolve machining issues.
• Complete production and quality documentation.
