Job summary

Talent Media is recruiting an experienced CNC Turn/Mill Setter/Operator for an established precision engineering manufacturer based in Lanark. You will be hands-on, carrying out full machine set-ups and producing complex components to tight tolerances from engineering drawings.

The role involves two-shift style patterns with rotating day and night shifts; shift premiums apply. Applicants should have proven experience in CNC Turn/Mill settings, tooling, and quality inspection within aerospace or

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating CNC turning or Turn/Mill machinery.
• Ability to complete a full machine setup without supervision.
• Understanding of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, offsets and workholding.
• Competence reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Turn/Mill machinery.
• Carry out full machine changeovers.
• Select and install tooling, workholding and fixtures.
• Establish datums and tool/work offsets.
• Load, prove and adjust CNC programs.
• Produce and inspect first-off components.
• Manufacture complex parts to close tolerances from drawings.
• Monitor tool condition and adjust as needed.
• Inspect own work with precision measuring equipment.
• Maintain tolerances and required surface finishes.
