Job summary

First Base Employment Ltd in Stroud is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Setter to join a precision engineering team. You will programme, set and operate CNC machines, optimise programmes for tight tolerances, and ensure efficient production.

The role requires strong turning/milling experience with Fanuc controls; Mazak and Fusion 360 experience are advantageous. Overtime paid, with a potential second shift available.

Qualifications

Experience programming and setting CNC turning and milling machines.
Ability to read engineering drawings and develop precise programmes.
Proficient with Fanuc controls; Mazak experience is a plus.
Capable of offline programming using Fusion 360.

Responsibilities

Create, edit and optimise CNC programmes for production.
Programme CNC machinery using Fanuc and Mazak controls.
Use Fusion 360 for offline programming.
Develop programmes from drawings and customer specs.
Select tools, speeds and feeds; set and prove out programmes.
Set tooling and workholding for production runs.
Read drawings and perform first-off inspections.
Identify improvements to reduce cycle times and increase efficiency.
