Job summary

Terry Parris Associates is seeking a skilled CNC Milling Setter/Operator to join our East Sussex team. You will set up and run CNC milling machines, interpret engineering drawings, and ensure components meet exacting tolerances in a busy production environment.

You will adjust tool offsets, perform first-off checks, and maintain quality throughout production while adhering to safety standards and production schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Minimum four years' experience operating CNC machines.
• Craft apprenticeship or equivalent practical training.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC milling machines to required specs.
• Prepare and secure workpieces, fixtures, and tooling.
• Adjust tool offsets and machine settings for accuracy.
• Carry out first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Monitor machine performance and address tool wear and issues.
• Replace worn tools and use measuring equipment to verify dimensions.
• Maintain production documentation and records.
