Job summary

Placr Recruitment is seeking an experienced CNC Setter / Operator (Miller) to join an established engineering and manufacturing business in Lower Dicker, East Sussex. This hands-on role requires setting and running CNC milling machines from engineering drawings to produce high-quality components.

The successful candidate will have experience with FANUC, Heidenhain and Siemens controls, read GD&T, and work to ISO and conversational programs, with opportunities to advance in a busy manufacturing

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines from engineered drawings.
• Proficient reading of GD&T and engineering specifications.
• Experience with ISO and conversational CNC programs.
• Familiar with FANUC, Heidenhain or Siemens controls.
• Able to troubleshoot and adjust tooling and programs.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC milling machines to produce components from drawings.
• Run both proven and unproven programs and verify first-off parts.
• Read drawings and GD&T, ensuring consistency with quality standards.
• Maintain machine condition and perform basic preventative maintenance.
