Terry Parris Associates in East Sussex is seeking a skilled CNC Milling Setter/Operator to join our busy manufacturing team. You will set up and run CNC milling machines to produce precision components from engineering drawings.

The role requires the ability to read drawings, adjust tool offsets, carry out first-off inspections, and maintain a safe, efficient production environment. You will work to schedule and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Craft apprenticeship or equivalent practical engineering training.
• Minimum of four years' experience operating CNC machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience adjusting tooling and machine offsets.
• Competence using measuring equipment such as micrometers and verniers.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilités

• Set and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture components to the required specifications.
• Prepare and secure workpieces, fixtures and tooling for machining.
• Adjust tool offsets and machine settings to maintain accuracy.
• Carry out first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Monitor machine performance and respond to tool wear, alarms and issues.
• Replace worn or damaged cutting tools when necessary.
• Use measuring equipment to check dimensions and quality.
• Complete production documentation and inspection records accurately.
• Identify and report quality issues and non-conforming components.
