Job summary

Veeam Software in United Kingdom seeks a seasoned Systems Engineer to evangelize products, translate customer needs into technical requirements, and lead pre‑sales activities. You will present to diverse technical and business audiences, conduct POCs, and drive CRM‑tracked engagements with partners and customers.

The role emphasizes hands-on demonstrations, collaboration with product teams, and frequent travel across the UK & Ireland.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience working in a pre-sales role in IT.
• Prior experience using or deploying Veeam solutions.
• VMCE certification would be very advantageous; all SEs can obtain VMCE and VMCA certifications once in the role.
• Have deep experience with virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV), and associated technologies (SANs, hyper-converged storage, networking).
• Have a working knowledge of public clouds (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• Have a working knowledge of key SaaS platforms such as Microsoft Office 365 and Salesforce.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Be comfortable presenting to groups, both remotely and in person.
• Be available to travel across UK & Ireland.
• Be a self-starter with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where roles and responsibilities change quickly.

Responsibilities

• Engage with end users and Veeam partners to establish and translate business objectives into technical requirements.
• Create content and deliver presentation and demonstrations to varying numbers and levels of decision makers, virtually and in person.
• Manage the technical evaluation stage of the sales process as a main technical advisor for Veeam solutions.
• Provide pre-sales assistance to customers as they evaluate Veeam software (i.e. POCs, Hands-on Labs, Bootcamps).
• Record and maintain accurate and up-to-date details of customer and partner engagement activities on the CRM platform (Salesforce)
• Work closely with Veeam’s value-added resellers on training, joint meetings and building relationships.
• Support lead generation activities such as events, webinars, user groups, etc.
• Work closely with Veeam Product Development and Engineering to provide customer feedback.
• Active participation and collaboration with cross functional teams on various strategic initiatives that increases efficiencies and add long term value to the company (i.e. TCO & ROI calculators, hands-on-labs).
