We are seeking a Pre- Rig Technician to help drive the future of motorsport innovation. You will be based at our state of the art engineering and manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes, designed to produce high-performance Power Units for the 2026 engine regulations.

In this Pre-Rig Technician role, you will have the opportunity to conduct physical testing to prove out Powertrain systems, covering an extensive range from single components to full vehicle with electrified Powertrain. Your Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out the pre-rig and de-rig of UUT’s to and from the dyno
  • Assist with the installation and removal of UUT’s from the test bed when required including any instrumentation required plus update systems accordingly
  • Building up of various dyno and pre-rig assemblies as required
  • Maintain an effective level of communication with all relevant areas such as engine build, engine strip and engineering
  • Contribute to the long-term development and efficiency of the pre-rig area
  • Provide a flexible approach towards working hours which may include shift patterns and travel to support events in order to meet business demands as/when required

Your experience:

  • Relevant experience of engine component & full Power Unit testing, ideally within the motorsport industry
  • Excellent practical, hands-on experience of Power Units, as well as basic electrics and hydraulic systems
  • A good understanding of motor vehicle technology and knowledge of F1 Powertrain architecture
  • Experience of pre-rigging modern F1 Power Units preferred but not essential
  • An apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 vocational qualification or higher in Mechanical or Motor Vehicle Engineering is preferable
  • Target orientated working ethic and willingness to learn

Not only is this fantastic Pre-Rig Technician roles, but it is also a fantastic team to work with here at Red Bull Powertrains.
