Red Bull Powertrains has an exciting opportunity to join our Test Operations team as we transition from building our team’s first Power Units to refining them into a race-ready package, all aimed at delivering the most competitive car on the 2026 Formula One grid. We are seeking a Pre-Rig Technician to help drive the future of motorsport innovation. You will be based at our state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes, designed to produce high-performance Power Units for the 2026 engine regulations.

In this role, you will conduct physical testing to validate Powertrain systems, covering a range from single components to full vehicles with electrified Powertrains. Success in this role requires a dynamic approach, advanced test technology, automation tools, and the latest testing methodologies.

Your Responsibilities:

• Carry out pre-rig and de-rig of UUTs to and from the dyno.
• Assist with the installation and removal of UUTs from the test bed, including instrumentation and system updates.
• Build up various dyno and pre-rig assemblies as required.
• Maintain effective communication with engine build, engine strip, and engineering teams.
• Contribute to the development and efficiency of the pre-rig area.
• Support flexible working hours, including shift patterns and travel for events, to meet business needs.

Your Experience:

• Relevant experience in engine component and Power Unit testing, preferably in motorsport.
• Practical experience with Power Units, electrics, and hydraulic systems.
• Understanding of motor vehicle technology and F1 Powertrain architecture.
• Experience with pre-rigging modern F1 Power Units is preferred but not essential.
• Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Motor Vehicle Engineering is preferable.
• Target-oriented work ethic and willingness to learn.
