Job summary

Voy is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to support the pre-analytical phase of patient testing in a high-calibre team. You will validate specimen labelling, manage high-volume sample intake, and perform routine equipment checks to ensure data integrity and readiness for analysis.

You will develop your skills toward operating advanced laboratory equipment, while contributing to audits and Lean Lab initiatives that refine SOPs and patient care.

Qualifications

• Pre-analytical processes experience preferred.
• Familiar with data entry in LIMS and maintaining data integrity.
• Knowledge of COSHH standards and safety procedures.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced lab.

Responsibilities

• Own the pre-analytical phase by validating specimen labelling and sample integrity.
• Coordinate high-volume intake of samples to support the analytical team.
• Perform daily maintenance and checks on pre-analytical equipment; keep logs accurate.
• Support procurement and stock rotation of reagents and consumables.
• Enter and verify patient data in LIMS with high precision.
• Ensure safe disposal of clinical waste per COSHH guidelines.
• Identify/prevent pre-analytical discrepancies through collaboration with senior staff.
• Participate in internal audits and Lean Lab initiatives to improve SOPs.
