Job summary

Voy Labs is seeking a Biomedical Scientist to own the analytical process across haematology and clinical biochemistry, ensuring accuracy, reliability and innovative testing capabilities. You will work with cutting-edge systems, uphold quality standards, and contribute to expanding our diagnostic catalog within a fast-growing health tech environment.

You will interpret complex results, participate in EQA schemes, train staff, and collaborate with clinicians to guide health decisions.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered biomedical scientist with post-registration experience in haematology and/or clinical biochemistry.
• Experience in assay verification, test validation and analytical troubleshooting in an automated lab environment.
• Strong data review skills and ability to spot non-conformances before release.
• Knowledge of UKAS/ISO 15189 standards, internal QC and EQA schemes.
• Effective communicator and collaborative leader for junior staff.
• Commitment to CPD and fast-paced health tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical input in setting up, verifying and validating new lab tests across haematology and biochemistry.
• Process and analyse patient samples according to SOPs with high accuracy and efficiency.
• Interpret and validate analytical results, resolve discrepancies.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory analysers with QC checks.
• Participate in External Quality Assessment schemes to uphold analytical standards.
• Contribute to the Quality Management System, audits and incident reporting.
• Maintain audit-ready records in the LIMS.
• Communicate with clinicians and stakeholders to provide technical guidance.
• Mentor and supervise junior staff to raise team standards.
