Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to deliver safe, evidence-based care for registered patients at Benchill Medical Practice. You will manage chronic diseases, immunisations, travel health and screening, while supporting high-quality, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary team.

You will perform venepuncture, ECGs and wound care, maintain records in EMIS Web, and contribute to infection control and NHS Health Checks.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with NMC
• Experience in General Practice and vaccination programmes is desirable
• Experience in cervical screening and chronic disease management preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver chronic disease reviews for patients with diabetes, hypertension, asthma, COPD and cardiovascular disease
• Provide immunisations and travel health services in line with national guidance
• Carry out cervical cytology screening and perform related procedures
• Carry out venepuncture, blood pressure monitoring and ECGs
• Support infection prevention and control audits and maintain a safe clinical environment
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMIS Web) and contribute to QOF targets
• Work with GPs and allied staff to deliver high-quality patient care and participate in service development
• Undertake continuing professional development in line with NMC requirements
