Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a NMC‑registered Practice Nurse to work in a GP practice in Taunton. The role focuses on chronic disease reviews, treatment room duties and routine nursing clinics within a structured primary care environment.

You will deliver high‑quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventive health work and treatment room activity, with flexible regular or ad‑hoc sessions and morning/afternoon slots. DBS checked and EMIS/SystmOne/Vision experience desirable.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with experience in primary care.
• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS

Responsibilities

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Carrying out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system
