Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work with a GP practice in Dorchester. The role requires strong assessment skills to deliver chronic disease reviews and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care setting.

You will support high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity, in a well-organised practice with supportive nursing leadership and clear daily clinic delivery.

Qualificações

• NMC registration and current UK practice credentials.
• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsabilidades

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carrying out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained).
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through a balance of clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity. The practice offers well-organised workflows, supportive nursing leadership and a clear structure for daily clinic delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension


• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties


• Carrying out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained)


• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)

Requirements
