About the Opportunity

A forward-thinking and friendly GP practice in the Newark area is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Practice Nurse to join our clinical team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse or a motivated practitioner looking to develop their skills in primary care.

Key Responsibilities
Treatment Room Duties
  • Wound care, dressings, suture/clip removal
  • Childhood and adult immunisations
  • Cervical cytology
  • ECGs, blood pressure monitoring, NHS health checks
Chronic Disease Management
  • Asthma reviews
  • COPD reviews
  • Diabetes support and monitoring
  • Hypertension management
  • Participation in long-term condition clinics
Health Promotion & Preventative Care
  • Lifestyle advice including weight management and smoking cessation
  • Supporting public health campaigns
  • Patient education and self-care support
Clinical Governance & Teamwork
  • Maintain accurate clinical records
  • Contribute to quality improvement and CQC standards
  • Work collaboratively with GPs, ANPs, HCAs, and administrative teams
  • Engage in CPD and clinical training opportunities
Essential Requirements
  • NMC Registered Nurse
  • Experience in general practice or willingness to undertake training
  • Competency in immunisations, wound care, and cervical screening (training can be provided if needed)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A patient-centred approach and commitment to high standards of care
Desirable Skills
  • Chronic disease management qualifications (Asthma, COPD, Diabetes)
  • Experience with EMIS Web, SystmOne, or similar systems
  • Mentoring or supervisory experience
