Job summary

NHS is seeking a Practice Manager to lead the strategic, financial, and operational success of the surgery. You will work with GP Partners to drive high-quality patient care, ensure strong governance, and optimise performance across QOF and local enhanced services.

You will direct IT systems such as SystmOne and Ardens, manage budgets and payroll, lead the administrative and clinical teams, and partner with the PCN to adapt to NHS changes and new service delivery models.

As our Practice Manager, you will hold key accountability for the strategic, financial, and operational success of the surgery. Working closely with the GP Partners, you will manage a diverse multi-disciplinary team, ensure robust Care Quality Commission (CQC) compliance, and drive performance across the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and local enhanced services.

Key Responsibilities

• SystmOne & IT Leadership: Direct the operational use of TPP SystmOne and integrated tools like Ardens to maximize clinical data accuracy, efficient scheduling, and QOF reporting.
• Financial Management: Oversee practice budgets, maximize income streams (including QOF, PCN funding, and enhanced services), manage payroll, and analyse financial performance alongside the partners.
• Human Resources: Lead, support, and develop the administrative, reception, and clinical teams. Manage recruitment, appraisals, rotas, and training schedules.
• CQC Compliance & Governance: Act as the lead for regulatory compliance, ensuring the practice meets all CQC standards, health and safety regulations, and data protection policies (GDPR).
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Partners and our local Primary Care Network (PCN) to adapt to NHS structural changes and implement new service delivery models.
