Job summary

Williams F1 Team is seeking a Design Engineer to own power unit integration from concept through detail design, ensuring optimal packaging, mounting and thermal management within the chassis. The role requires hands-on work across R&D, dyno and production testing to achieve race-ready solutions.

You will collaborate with suppliers and multidisciplinary teams to resolve complex packaging challenges while maintaining strict engineering standards and deadlines in a high-pressure racing environment.

Qualifications

• Design experience in powertrain and engine installation in motorsport or aerospace environments.
• Strong CAD skills with Siemens NX preferred; training available for other CAD systems.
• Ability to perform structural, thermal and functional analysis and calculations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver complete PU integration projects from concept to detail design, supporting R&D, dyno and production tests.
• Produce designs for PU installation components and structures: mounting, cooling, exhaust, fuel and energy store.
• Collaborate with power unit suppliers and across aerodynamics, vehicle science, transmissions, chassis structure teams.
