Job summary

Williams F1 Team is seeking a Design Engineer to own power unit integration from concept to detail design, working with the PU supplier and across aerodynamics, vehicle science, and chassis teams. The role is hands-on and focused on solving complex packaging and interface challenges to impact on-track performance.

You will be degree qualified in Mechanical/Automotive/Aerospace/Marine engineering, with strong CAD skills; Siemens NX experience is preferred, and training is available for other CAD

Qualifications

• Mechanical/Automotive/Aerospace/Marine engineering degree required.
• Strong CAD skills; Siemens NX preferred.
• Experience in powertrain installation or closely related area is advantageous.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings and standards.

Responsibilities

• Support complete PU integration projects from concept to detail design, supporting R&D, dyno and production builds.
• Produce conceptual and detailed designs for PU installation components and structures (mounting, cooling, exhaust, fuel, energy store).
• Carry out calculations for structural, thermal and functional aspects.
• Contribute to mechanical, thermal and system interfaces between power unit and chassis.
• Build strong relationships with power unit supplier and external component suppliers.
• Own faults: analyse and implement timely rectification.
• Maintain clear communication across teams and adapt to racing calendar demands.
